This community was formerly a rating community that has recently come under new "management" of sorts. We are trying to take the accentuation off of the fact that it is a rating community and focus more on a "Goth Discussion Group". We like to focus on the Goth Scene, past, present, and future, as well as discussions about various things that may be relevent to Goths, both old school and new goths alike. You're bound to get weekly CD reviews, as well as topics for discussion made by various members. Members are also encouraged to post articles, news, debate questions (note the differance between 'debate' and 'flamewar'), commentaries, rants (politely, of course), and basically anything else that you may feel may be of interest. By all means post what you'd like. Please apply to join only if you plan to participate, as no one likes a dead community, or a community full of memebers with very minimal posting.
- You must post an application within two days of joining - Answer ALL the questions - I don't care if you comment on another post before you're stamped, but DON'T vote before being stamped, and no other posts can be made before you're stamped - No trolling - If you've been rejected, leave right away - If you've been rejected, you may try again in two weeks. If you are rejected twice, well maybe this community is just not for you. - Put "Not Gawf" as your Subject title. - THE ENTIRE SURVEY must be under an LJ-cut. If you don't know how to use one, look it up in the LJ-FAQ - Pictures =are= required, at least three CLEAR pictures, one must be unphotoshopped - It makes life easier if you bold the questions, so although it's not required, it's preferred. -Be mature. Be gracious. Be intelligent. Be catty, but do not be cruel.
- Once stamped, your posts are unmoderated. Only applicants have to have approval. - Participate in voting as often as possible. - When voting, put "Yes" "No" or "Undecided" in the subject line, so counting's made easier. - No need to be mean to applicants. If you simply are appauled and insulted by their pplication, simply vote no with a period and call it a day. There's no need for unnecessary creulty. - DON'T vote "No" based strictly on the pictures. While the applicant should show somewhat of a clear understanding of gothic fashion, be respectful of people's own personal styles. - Once accepted, feel free to post whatever you want, whether it be pictures, goth humor, rants, WHATEVER. Community promo's are ok once in awhile, but don't post them too often. Surveys and quiz results are highly discouraged, but if you feel you must post them, they must be behind a cut. Long rants, large pictures, etc. should be behind a cut out of courtesy.

What do you think of the "gother-than-thou" attitude some represent? How did you get into the subculture? Do you prefer old-school or new-school Goth? Why? Why do you consider yourself Gothic? Complete this sentence: Labels are.... How did you hear about the community? Why do you want to join?
Here you must post links to TWO communities where you promoted gothsnotgawfs. (Take advantage of our ready-made promo-stamp.)
